Overstreet Family Receives the 2025 Angel Tree Award
The Overstreets began volunteering with The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program many years ago, starting with just a few toys loaded into the family car. What began as a simple act of service has grown into a cherished family tradition—one that has carried through all of their children.
Over time, that small effort expanded into something remarkable. As toy donations from generous companies, churches, and community groups increased, the Overstreets upgraded from their car to a van, and eventually to a 20-foot U-Haul—often making multiple trips during the Christmas season to collect and deliver toys for local children in need.
For the Overstreets, the reward has never been the miles driven or the truckloads of gifts gathered. It’s the joy. The smiles. The impact. Seeing the happiness on the faces of families they’ve served is what fuels their commitment year after year.
For the Overstreets, service is not just what they do—it’s who they are.
Because of volunteers like them, hope shows up on Christmas morning for children across central Ohio—wrapped in joy, compassion, and the kindness of neighbors.
