Assistant Director of Social Services
Deadline: June 4

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., weekends and evenings as needed

Job Focus:  This position is responsible to support the Director of Social Services and to provide oversight to social service ministries such as the food pantries, learning center, Christmas assistance, and emergency services.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army’s Mission
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work required, Licensed Social Worker – State of Ohio preferred
  • Previous non-profit work experience strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive can-do attitude and a sleeve rolled up approach to leadership
  • Strong work ethic, written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of grant writing, performance measurement and program budgeting processes preferred
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • At least 21 years old, valid Ohio Driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.  Ability to drive a small box truck (CDL not required).

Data Entry Administrative Assistant - Development
Deadline: June 4

Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 25 hours/week, Monday-Friday

Job Focus:  This position is primarily responsible for donor data entry and maintenance of current donor records within the Salesforce system.  Additionally, this position is responsible for all donor acknowledgements and some secretarial and general office duties.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
  • Three-five years administrative assistance experience. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Previous data entry experience strongly preferred. 
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Mail Merge and Power Point required. Previous experience with Salesforce software preferred.
  • Sterling interpersonal skills; applies tact and diplomacy in dealing with internal and external constituents. 
  • A positive, contagious “can-do” attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable in high-profile situations as well as with “sleeves rolled up.”
  • Valid Ohio Driver License and the ability to maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.

Union/Madison County Housing Case Manager
Deadline June 5

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 37.5 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Job Focus:  This program aims to provide short to medium-term home-based case management to homeless families and families in housing crisis in Union and Madison Counties.  Services offered include life skills training, case goal development, budgeting, employment search and preparation, referral linkage to community resources and transporting clients.  Other duties include processing client intake and assessment forms, and data collection maintenance.  The home base for this position is Marysville.
