Temporary Volunteer & Events Coordinator

Schedule:  Part-Time, 25-29 hours a week, non-exempt position

Function:  Responsible to recruit, process and assist with the coordination of volunteers.  Under the direction of the Development Director, provides oversight for assigned events.  Provides some general administrative clerical support to the Development Director.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Associates Degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of related experience
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Publisher.  Photo Shop a plus
  • Experience in recruiting, training, managing and supporting groups of people
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships and work with volunteers, program staff and senior leadership.
  • Exceptional writing skills with keen attention to grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, think strategically and adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines with little supervision.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
  • Valid Ohio Driver License and the ability to maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.

Accounting Clerk

The Salvation Army Central Ohio is seeking to fill a part-time (25 hours per week), non-exempt position for an Accounting Clerk.This position encompasses the general responsibility for accounting services for Columbus Area Services.This position utilizes technical abilities and skills including the use of computers and computerized systems, particularly Word, Excel and Shelby Accounting.It is a position that demands strict confidentiality and accountability in all matters.


  1. An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army's mission
  2. High School Graduate
  3. Working knowledge of MS-Word and Excel Spreadsheets
  4. Must have excellent typing, telephone, computer and office machinery skills.
  5. Must have excellent interpersonal relationship skills and be extremely loyal and confidential in relating to all co-workers and work matters.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality
