Education Specialist     
Deadline: January 24

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 37.5 hours/week , M-F, 10:30 – 6:30 p.m. during the school year,8:30 a.m.-3:30 during the summer day camp program and 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. when program is not in session.

Job Focus: 

Responsible to develop curriculum and distribute lesson plans to site coordinators, to conduct and monitor Curriculum Based Measurement Assessments on student participants, to maintain a database to monitor the results of assessments, and to develop and implement appropriate academic intervention strategies for those students determined to be “at risk” academically for their grade level. Provide administrative support as needed to the Education Coordinator and assist with student recruitment

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education required
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Excel; ability to create spreadsheets, formulas, charts, tables, etc.
  • Strong experience using current Microsoft Office software such as Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficient writing, time management, speaking and organizational skills
  • Two-plus years of working with elementary/middle school aged children
  • One or more years of working in an afterschool program setting preferred
  • Current first aid, CPR, communicable disease and child abuse training preferred
  • Patient and energetic

  • Ability to maintain ODJFS standards for employees and program operation if applicable

Union County Case Worker     
Deadline: January 24

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 35 hours per week, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This positions home office is in Marysville, OH.

Job Focus:  This position is responsible for assisting clients with housing and emergency food through the Union County Housing Programs Office.  This employee is responsible for intake and case management of the Senior Assistance Program, assisting clients with the Union County Choice Pantry, walk-in and telephone call program screening with referral and linkage to agency/community resources.

Staff Accountant

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 37.5 hours per week, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Job Focus:  This position will utilize technical abilities with computerized systems to analyze account information, to prepare budgets, to ensure contract accounting compliance, to perform accounts payable and receivable data entry, and to perform program forecasting.  It is a position that demands strict confidentiality and integrity in all matters.

Administrative Assistant to Corporate and Donor Relations Coordinator

Job Focus:  To provide administrative support to the Corporate and Donor Relations Coordinator.  Administrative support includes preparation of mailings, gift acknowledgments, newsletters and major donor proposals as well as internet research and entry of donor notes in the database.

Janitor/Maintenance Position

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 40 hours/week, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Focus:  Seeking an individual to provide direct assistance with the day-to-day upkeep of Greater Columbus Area Services properties.  This includes, but is not limited to, performing building, equipment, and vehicle maintenance, painting, grounds keeping, cleaning, event set-up and clean up, and transporting of donations.  Must be available for emergencies on nights and weekends.  This position will work from 966 E. Main Street.
