Assistant Director of Social Services

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., weekends and evenings as needed

Job Focus:  This position is responsible to support the Director of Social Services and to provide leadership and oversight to the Material Assistance, Career Enhancement Center, Emergency Disaster Services, Corporate Disaster and Emergency Relief Programs, and Seasonal Assistance Programs, including the Christmas Cheer Program.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Previous non-profit work experience strongly preferred
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive can-do attitude and a sleeve rolled up approach to leadership
  • Strong work ethic, written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of grant writing, performance measurement and program budgeting processes preferred
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • At least 21 years old, valid Ohio Driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.  Ability to drive a box truck (CDL not required).

Supportive Services for Veteran Families 
Deadline: May 22, 2019

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 37.5 hours/week, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  This position’s office is in Marysville, Ohio.

Job Focus:  This position is responsible for case management services in the Union, Logan and Madison Counties.  Services include crisis intervention/emergency lodging, housing search, case plans, financial literacy/budgeting, transportation, employment search/linkage, referral and linkage to community resources.  Other duties include completion of client intake and assessment forms, data collection, and HMIS entry.  The ideal candidate must be able to work independently.

Job Focus:  Seeking an individual to provide direct assistance with the day-to-day upkeep of Greater Columbus Area Services properties.  This includes, but is not limited to, performing building, equipment, and vehicle maintenance, painting, grounds keeping, cleaning, event set-up and clean up, and transporting of donations.  Must be available for emergencies on nights and weekends.  This position will work from 966 E. Main Street.
