CHRISTMAS CHEER VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Columbus, Ohio Area Services
 
Classification:   Seasonal; Mid-October to Mid-January
                            October 22-November 2, 2018 (15 hours/week); November 5-16, 2018 (20-25 hours/week);
                            November 19-21, 2018 (15 hours); November 26-December 21, 2018 (40 hours/week); and
                            January 2 – 16, 2018 (15 hours/week)
 
Job Focus:   To recruit, schedule and coordinate volunteers to support The Salvation Army’s ministry to families through its Christmas Cheer Toy & Food Distribution program.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Previous volunteer and event coordination experience preferred

EAST MAIN CORPS CASEWORKER

Schedule:  Full-Time, 35 hours a week, non-exempt position

Job Summary: This position is responsible for Material Assistance Services at the East Main Street Worship and Service Center location.  Material Assistance services include choice food pantry, utility assistance, furniture vouchers, Christmas toy and food assistance and registration for all seasonal programs.  The Case Worker will work in harmony with the Corps Officer to carry out The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.

Requirements:

  • An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army's mission.
  • Associate Degree in Social Work or related field or at least 2 years experience in a social work setting.
  • Previous non-profit experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a can-do attitude.
  • Highly organized.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Professional with a sleeves rolled up approach.
  • Valid Ohio Driver License and the ability to maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards.
  • Ability to drive The Salvation Army box truck.

DELAWARE CASEWORKER

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 35 hours/week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday:  9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Wednesday 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Friday:  9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute meal break.

Job Focus:  This position is responsible for Material Assistance Services at the Worship and Service Center location.  Material Assistance services include filling food pantry orders and registration for all seasonal programs.  This position will work in harmony with the Corps Office to carry out The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 20 hours/week, 2:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Job Focus:  This position provides assistance with academic instruction, program implementation, and support with supervision of program participants at The Salvation Army’s Learning Center site.

JANITOR/MAINTENANCE POSITION

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 40 hours/week, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Focus:  Seeking an individual to provide direct assistance with the day-to-day upkeep of Greater Columbus Area Services properties.  This includes, but is not limited to, performing building, equipment, and vehicle maintenance, painting, grounds keeping, cleaning, event set-up and clean up, and transporting of donations.  Must be available for emergencies on nights and weekends.  This position will work from 966 E. Main Street.

AFTER SCHOOL SITE COORDINATOR

Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, 20-25 hours/week/36 weeks during the After School program, 2:30 – 6:30 p.m., may work up to an additional 5 hours per week to complete paperwork and program participation. 

Job Focus:  This position provides leadership to the after school tutorial program at a Learning Center site, including direct supervision of program assistants and all paid or volunteer tutors, continued relationship as liaison to local schools and implementation of curriculum and program evaluations.
