Education Specialist
Deadline: April 5, 2019

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 35 hours/week , M-F, 11:00 – 6:30 p.m. during the school year, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 during the summer day camp program and 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. when program is not in session.

Job Focus: 

Responsible to develop curriculum and distribute lesson plans to site coordinators, to conduct and monitor Curriculum Based Measurement Assessments on student participants, to maintain a database to monitor the results of assessments, and to develop and implement appropriate academic intervention strategies for those students determined to be “at risk” academically for their grade level. Provide administrative support as needed to the Education Coordinator and assist with student recruitment

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • An understanding of and passion for The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education required
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Excel; ability to create spreadsheets, formulas, charts, tables, etc.
  • Strong experience using current Microsoft Office software such as Word and PowerPoint
  • Proficient writing, time management, speaking and organizational skills
  • Two-plus years of working with elementary/middle school aged children
  • One or more years of working in an afterschool program setting preferred
  • Current first aid, CPR, communicable disease and child abuse training preferred
  • Patient and energetic
  • A positive, contagious “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to maintain ODJFS standards for employees and program operation if applicable
  • A valid Ohio Driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain driving privileges per Salvation Army insurance standards

Staff Accountant
Deadline: March 29, 2019

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 37.5 hours per week, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday with a 30-minute meal break.

Job Focus:  This position will utilize technical abilities with computerized systems to analyze account information, to prepare budgets, to ensure contract accounting compliance, to perform accounts payable and receivable data entry, and to perform program forecasting.  It is a position that demands strict confidentiality and integrity in all matters.

Job Focus:  This position provides assistance with academic instruction, program implementation, and support with supervision of program participants at The Salvation Army’s Learning Center site.

Job Focus:  Seeking full-time, temporary program assistants for The Salvation Army’s Summer Learning Centers.  Some responsibilities include:  assisting in the day-to-day activities, providing assistance with academic instruction, program implementation, field trips and support with supervision of program participants.

Job Focus:  Seeking full-time, Site Coordinators for The Salvation Army’s Summer Learning Centers.  This position provides leadership to the Learning Center Summer Day Camp sites.  Some responsibilities include:  Direct supervision of program assistants, volunteers and students.  Responsible to ensure the implementation of the curriculum, program activities and program evaluation.
