The Salvation Army provides Utility Assistance which is seasonal and available
through the generous funding by local utility companies.
-Neighbor to Neighbor: Assistance for AEP customers who are facing disconnect,
who have made a sincere effort to pay on their electric bill in the last 90 days, and who
meet income guidelines of 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. Full eligibilty guidelines
and application instructions for the Neighbor to Neighbor program can be found at
-Heat Share: Assistance from Columbia Gas which helps with up to $250 to prevent
Columbia Gas shut-off or to reconnect service. Clients must meet income guidelines of
150% of federal poverty level.
The Salvation Army and many other local Community organizations assist low-income Ohioans secure heating or cooling assistance. Currently, The Ohio Breathing Assoication and IMPACT are offering HEAP assistance. You can also click HERE for a list of other agencies that administer HEAP.
