AFTER SCHOOL LEARNING CENTERS

Student at desk
The Salvation Army operates four After School Learning Centers in Central Ohio,
providing academicsupport, achievement test preparation, tutoring and mentoring to
students from Columbus City Schools in grades 1-8.  There is also a summer enrichment
and recreation component. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

To enroll your first through eighth-grade child in one of our After-School Learning Center Programs,
please contact one of the following four After-School Learning Center Staff:

North East Side - Call 614-403-1082.
West Side - Call 614-484-0206.
Ohio Avenue  - Call 614-358-2633.
Livingston Elementary - Call 614.448.8237.

To Volunteer:

Volunteers are required to volunteer a minimum of once a week for 10 weeks. We are also recruiting volunteers to tutor students in math and reading at the After-School Learning Centers
one day a week for two hours after school. We ask volunteers to commit to this opportunity once a week
or a minimum of 10 weeks. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Because tutoring volunteers work directly with minor children, a current Ohio BCI/FBI background check is required. Please contact Kristin Hampton-Harmon at 614-358-2627 or by email at Kristin.Harmon@use.SalvationArmy.org.

Dates/Times:

Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (ongoing September through May)
